Reimagining the Waterfront Icon
Al Nakheel Oasis is a urban design and architecture proposal developed for Sharjah City Municipality, envisioning a transformative intervention along one of Sharjah’s most iconic waterfronts, Khalid Lagoon. Designed as a multifunctional public space, the project reimagines the lagoon’s edge through a layered integration of shade, light, and leisure, attracting families and friends to a vibrant public gathering space in the heart of Sharjah.
By enhancing the site’s environmental comfort and visual quality, the proposal introduces a series of responsive urban design elements from shading systems to dynamic lighting and community-driven amenities. The design connects and elevates the public realm in Sharjah into a contemporary, engaging, and future-ready landscape, setting a new standard for urban architecture in the UAE for both residents and visitors alike.

A new benchmark for nature reservation
A New Benchmark for Nature Reservation The design strategically reduces thermal exposure during peak hours while preserving every existing tree on site. By maintaining the current palm trees untouched, this sustainable urban design intervention enhances environmental resilience without compromising ecological integrity, merging sustainable architecture with spatial performance and proving that great public realm design in the UAE and nature can coexist.
